What we do
Prayer: |
The opening prayer should be from your heart, or ask a child to pray for God's help us with today's lesson.
Praise and Worship: |
There are some great songs from Groups or Mary Hopkins Rice. Look around you'll be amazed.
Prayer request: |
Ask kids to share their stories and prayer request. Don't let this part of your meeting get out of hand.
Overview of lesson: |
Tell the kids what you expect them to learn today.
Bible Lesson: |
This lesson should be from the Bible and you should read some of the scripture. You may adlib some also.
Object lesson: |
This is a time used to transition back to the lesson time, it's fun but quite time is now invoked.
Life Application: |
This is a time we use to have our lesson relate to Kids. Don't substitute this story for the Bible story
Snack: |
This is a time to let the kids enjoy children's church and keep them excited.
Game: |
This is a time to see what the kids have learned and to get them excited so Mom and Dad can see their excitement. Overhead games, or Bible baseball work great for this game. Any question and answer game.
Closing Prayer: |
Pray for the kids and for their protection. Also include relative items you know are effecting your kids.
End the Class: |
Give out handouts, greet parents, have the kids help clean the room.
* Other things we have done include, Gospel magic, we sponsor a boy through Mission of Mercy and we have a time we talk about him, We use chemistry experiments to talk about God. Ounce a month we have mission Sunday (BGMC) and we talk about missionaries in foreign countries. A couple of Sundays we go outside and have class, it's usually a day when we end up getting wet and eating water melon and have seed spitting contest. We have had overnighters where the girls sleep in one part of the church and the boys sleep in another. We have fun until real late then put a family movie in for everyone to fall asleep to. We've gone to the local Zoo, and museums. We had a special Saturday water fight. |
