The Blessing

  1. Praise and worship
  2. Prayer request
  3. Games
  1. Say something nice. Players think of nice things to say to each other and the one who says the most, nice things about the other player wins.
  2. Make a gift and give it away. Make a paper airplane and give it to your partner. He/She has to fly it into a wastebasket for points. This most in the basket within a minute wins.
  1. Memory verse:

    John 1:16

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.

  2. Bible story: Gen. Chapter 22

The bible story is about the blessing Abraham’s children received. Compare our blessing we receive from Christ dying on the cross.

Tell the story about Abraham and Isaac. Gen. Chapter 22

Compare this story with God the father letting his son die for us.

Explain how Abraham received his blessing and his children inherited the promise land. Jesus inherited us for his Bride, because he sacrificed his own life that we could live. We are the blessing Jesus received, and our blessing is Jesus!

  1. Object lessons: Perform a wedding

Have a mock wedding to tell of the Bride of Christ, Highlight the ceremonial aspects of the wedding.

  1. The pure gold ring that has no beginning and no end, just as Jesus’ loved us before we knew him and his love for us will never end.
  2. The white gown of the bride, for Jesus died that we would be washed clean.
  3. The cake and punch, for one day we will eat with Jesus in our new home… Heaven.
  4. The bride has to confess her love (I do) as we must confess our devotion to Jesus with a prayer. The groom must also confess his love (I do) just as Jesus tells in his word that he loves us.
  5. Give children a chance, at this point, to give their life to the lord.

Have wedding cake and punch for a treat. Answer questions about being the bride of Christ.

Have a closing prayer.
